Privacy Policy

Last Updated: March 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Tanj iTech Pvt Ltd ("Company", "we", "us") handles information in connection with the DNV Viewer desktop application and associated website (collectively, the "Service").

We have designed DNV Viewer with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect clinical data, patient records, or DICOM images at any point. This policy explains precisely what limited information may be collected and how it is used.

Short version: The desktop app collects an anonymized device identifier for licensing and basic usage analytics — this happens for all users, including those who choose not to sign in. The only personal information we may hold is your email address, collected when you choose to sign in. No DICOM images or patient data ever leave your device. This website uses limited advertising and analytics tools.

1. Information We Collect

a) Account Information (Website / Sign-In)

When you sign in to our website (which the app may open in your browser for account management and licensing), you authenticate via our identity service. Through this flow we may receive:

  • Email address — used solely to identify your account and manage your license.
  • Display name (if provided by the identity provider) — used for display purposes only.

We do not receive or store your password. Authentication is handled entirely by the identity provider.

b) License and Device Information (Desktop App)

To enforce license terms and prevent unauthorized sharing, the app communicates with our servers to:

  • Verify that your license is valid and active.
  • Associate your license with the device it is installed on using an anonymized device identifier (a randomly generated UUID per installation — not derived from hardware characteristics).

This device identifier is transmitted regardless of whether you have signed in, including when using the 24-hour trial (no-login) activation mode. It contains no clinical or patient data and cannot be linked to your identity without a corresponding account.

c) App Usage Analytics

On each launch, the app automatically sends a basic usage event (e.g., app opened) to our servers. This event includes:

  • The anonymized device identifier described above.
  • Your account identifier, if you are signed in (omitted for guest/trial users).

This data is collected for all users — including those who have not created an account — and is used solely to understand adoption and improve the software. It contains no personal information, no patient data, and no DICOM content.

d) In-App Web Screen Analytics

Certain informational or account-related screens within the app (rendered as web pages) may use standard web analytics. This is limited to general interaction data (e.g., page views, button clicks) and does not include any personal or clinical information.

2. What We Do NOT Collect

  • DICOM images, pixel data, or any radiological content.
  • Patient records, names, dates of birth, or any Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Text entered into the AI Chat or Report Rewriter features (this is sent directly to the AI provider's servers to generate a response — see Section 5).
  • Your physical location beyond the country-level (if inferred from IP address for compliance purposes).

3. How We Use Your Information

The limited information we collect is used exclusively to:

  • Create and manage your account.
  • Verify and maintain your software license.
  • Send transactional communications (e.g., license confirmation, support replies). We do not send marketing emails unless you have explicitly opted in.
  • Diagnose bugs and improve the reliability of the app.
  • Measure the reach and effectiveness of our marketing on this website using advertising and analytics tools.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Advertising and Analytics Tools

Our website may use standard advertising and analytics tools to measure page visits and campaign performance. These tools may collect standard web data such as page views, IP address, browser details, and site interactions in accordance with the provider's privacy terms.

You can manage tracking preferences through your browser settings, ad platform settings, or content-blocking tools.

No Other Persistent Cookies

We do not set any first-party persistent cookies on this website beyond what is strictly necessary for authentication sessions when you sign in.

5. Third-Party Services

Authentication Provider

Sign-in is handled by our authentication service. Your use of that authentication service is subject to our privacy policy and terms of service.

AI Features (Chat & Report Rewriter)

If you use AI-powered features, text you enter is transmitted to secure third-party AI providers (including OpenAI, xAI, and Anthropic) via radiologyassistant.ai to generate a response. You must not submit individually identifiable patient information through these features. The data handling practices of these providers are governed by their own privacy policies.

We strongly recommend reviewing the privacy policies of OpenAI and xAI before using AI features with any sensitive content.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information (email address and license record) for as long as your account remains active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. Anonymized diagnostic data that cannot be linked back to you may be retained indefinitely for analytical purposes.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect the limited data we hold. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password on your account and keep your device secure.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including the right to access, correct, port, or request deletion of your personal data. Residents of the EU/EEA have these rights under the GDPR; Indian residents under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023; California residents under the CCPA/CPRA.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

9. Children's Privacy

DNV Viewer is intended for use by licensed healthcare professionals. It is not directed at children under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you in-app or by email.
